That's a heck of a reflection dude! I'm not bragging because it's my car. Todd definitely deserves all the credit for the work done. One door and fender is wet sanded and polished. I think the  whole passenger side and the deck lid is sanded and waiting to be buffed.

Tax? What the...? I don't remember typing that...

Anywho, I got a bunch of pics from the painter today.

Transferring from phone to phone, I hope they upload with decent quality.

Looks like abuse to me. I think that poor truck should be removed from its current abusive home for its own protection, and placed in a safe, loving, and caring home in Kansas City.

Whut? A little air never hurt anything. 'Twas fun, tho. Felt like 17 all over again. lol.

Only took about 20 min to pop the spring back in its bucket and put a new retaining strap on. It's was a very non-elegant solution, I can tell you that much!

But seriously, for a $600 truck, it's been great. I've put right around 20k on it since I've had it. Runs a little warm in traffic, but still gets me 14-15 mpg on average and 18+ on the highway. I'm surprised how well those cheapo tires have held up considering these wonky front ends. It's proven itself to be a great little truck.

Back during the winter there was about 10-12" of snow on the ground and I was going to help a buddy move some rolls of hay. He was in a late model dually Ford with those glorious automatic hubs ( juuuunk). He was concerned that my little truck couldn't handle the rolls. We both loaded up three rolls each and were leaving when his front end refused to lock. Even manually. So I drove around him, hooked the chain to him and strolled on out of the bottom. lol. He don't like to talk about that much.

I'll give the painter credit. That SOB can sure photograph a car and make it look smooth as glass!

Not so happy with the paint.

And...

The new quarter panel I had him install? It looks great. Freaking spectacular, to be exact. But....

HE DIDN'T DRILL THE FIRST $&%##%& HOLE SO I CAN REMOUNT THE TRIM MOULDING!!!!!!

Now I have to figure out, plot, mark and drill 13 holes in fresh paint. Oh, joy.

This officially marks the last time I'm hiring work done. Ever.

Oh, yeah. And he mudded over two other trim mount holes and lost 6 retaining clips for the back window. Grrrrr.....

Did you tell him to drill the holes, or did you just tell him you were going to install the trim?

I can't install the trim without mounting holes. And you always drill holes / cut slots before the paint is laid. Metal work comes before paint.

I found three more holes that he mudded over. If I can't precisely locate the existing hole that is hidden it's gonna be real nice when my bit hangs the edge.

And 9 of the holes are actually 1/4" X 1/2" slots. Not an easy task to free hand through fresh paint. Also, after I cut all these out I'll have to brush paint on to seal the holes and just pray that no paint chips or flakes in the process.

Always, always, always finish ALL of the bodywork before paint.

Cool little blacksmithing setup. Hand treddle driven blower feeds through a dug tunnel under a small grate holding the coal. Small, simple, portable and requires no electricity or petrol. Would be perfect for repairs on the farm when you're broke down away from the barn.
