If, you replace your throttle return spring with a light one your cramping will go away. Since the bike uses a push/pull system, you do not have to worry about the throttle sticking open.

If i could ever get my throttle to act right,I would love to do that. It wants to stick at about 1/2 - 3/4 throttle.I can't seem to adjust it out and when i pull the cables loose from the carbs it works perfect.I dunno what im missing.Cables are well lubed

Maybe there is a bad spot in one of the cables.

Loosen the lock nut, and turn the barrel nut/adjuster until there is just a smidge of free movement in the throttle. Then tighten the lock nut.

I've been wondering about the push pull setup as my bike only has a pull, and one hell of a spring. It was hard for me to judge the throttle on the bike as it would just freely rotate on the bars. I had to hold the throttle assembly with one hand and twist with the other.
I may need to get a whole new throttle assembly set up for push pull because the spring that's on there now feels like it would be a bear to wrestle with while riding and I'm not sure if a lighter spring that would feel right would do the job.
Why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? I swear to god one of these days, I just kick this piece of shit out the window.

If the cables move freely, without sticking, when disconnected from the carbs, it would seem to suggest the problem is in the throttle linkage on the carbs. Have you checked that? Cheers!

I pulled the return cable on mine,But believe the return cable is a safety feature ,So no how to use your killswitch with out panic.(you may get a bang/pop).
I also noticed when my carbs were off that if the main bratcket that holds them all together is not tighten real-tight (carbs to it)that they return faster and easyer,SO must be sweaking the bar that turns/operates all carbs together (?).left mine lil loose using lock stars and "blue"locktight. they return lots smother and faster with no help.

Fiddled around with the throttle some tonight after i got in from a brisk little ride.I got my cold weather riding gear down to a Tee now Bank clock read 31 degrees when i was on my way home and i was completely comfortable.Anyway, the throttle.I forgot to mention this before, but it does fine with the engine off,it only wants to hang if it running.Wasnt able to correct anything tonight.I really need to get this fixed so i can dump this return spring.

OH,and my master cylinder and tach cable are leaking kinda bad. Both require a wipe down every 100-150 miles.I was planning on fixing stuff like this over the winter, but i cant seem to park it.I guess when the snow hits....I got plenty of long johns to wear in the meantime

This post was updated on .
My counter shaft seal(i think thats what its called) decided to start leaking profusely.I didnt even notice it until i saw a HUGE puddle of oil in the parking lot where i stopped to eat today. The oil wasnt very low,but after a while of riding i ended up having to put a quart in.One quart lost in 150 miles. Not good, plus my jeans are oil soaked Any special tricks i should know before i dive into this?Any special tools needed?I havent even popped the sprocket cover off to look at it,but its pouring.Dang it,gotta park it now
Rode a couple hundred miles today.Butt got pretty sore.Started thinking about rear sets a little more.I put my boots up on the swing arm, right in the corner where the shocks mount, and rode like that for the rest of the day.Kinda unnerving when the heel of your boots clicks against the chain, though. Not recommended. What a difference it made!I liked it so much i went to a buddys house and made me a set of rear pegs. Not the prettiest, but they felt awesome going home.Saw this sign ad had to stop and check it out.I dont know what was up but there was literally 15-20 SMOKIN' HOT girls on the trail leading down to the water fall.Mmm... hikers, you KNOW they gotta have nice legs .The "water fall" was pretty disappointing. It sounded like it was gonna be huge when i was going down the trail, but it was pretty small once i got to it.Still worth the look. Its amazing what you can find less than 50 from home if you just look around some.
Met a nice guy at a store i stopped at.He was riding this new Triumph Thruxton 900.It was a nice loooking bike and sounded great, but that rear fender He said he is gonna take it off asap.Poor guy was wearing an uninsulated leather jacket and leather gloves with no liner also.He was trying to drink a cup of coffee, but his hands were shaking so bad it was going all over his knuckles.I felt so bad for him i almost offered him my gloves.Would talked to him more but his teeth were chattering so bad i think he was getting embarassed. He spotted my tank as a GS tank right off.

Where are the hikers? I want to see the legs. You should have bought the guy another cup of Coffey, for knowing his bikes.

Shiny, had the same problem after I put the Clubmans' on my bike. The throttle would bind. If you try routing the cables with more of a "lazy" loop it should help a bit. Also, I was playing with a quick turn throttle off my CBR1000RR and noticed that there was a bit of crud/dust in the stock throttle housing of the CB750. All I had handy was a can of brake cleaner, gave it a few shots to clean out the crap and the throttle freed up to were it returns on it's own now... Just looked like some pocket lint lol but it was 32 years of pocket lint ;-). Just my .02 cents.

Yeah, cable routing was a chore.I think i finally got it sorted out. What seems strange is that it only wants to stick while running. It never does it with the bike off

Not exactly the same, but I used powdered silicone on my BMX break lines, It's basically the same, Wire in a tube. Pull it through wipe it with PB blaster, slide it back through powdering the line as you feed it, reattach the nipple at the end, should work. maybe not.

My hair-brained rear pegs.I know they're not rear sets, but its so much more comfortable riding like this.Your legs catch less wind and pick up some heat off the engine.Real nice for the cooler temps ive been in lately.

Did, you cut off the passenger peg mounts? They are great, for cafe style riding, and a good place to mount rearsets.

Yeah,I didn't like the look of the triangles off the frame so I whacked 'em.I kinda cool riding with your feet on the shock mounts and feeling the suspension work under your feet.

That rubber goop stuff you put on your levers, put some on those pegs,"just the thought"of your foot coming of going around a turn hurts
