So i was thinking about shaving my seat down because I've got short little legs... . I've heard an electric knife is good for this. How would I go about reupholstering it? Could i use the old cover and just cut it a little? (after making a little stencil so i could make a new cover later on of course ) Should I staple it back on? Appreciate the advice you guys give!!

Having a bit of trouble reading this wiring diagram. http://www.oregonmotorcycleparts.com/Diagrams/CB750F_dohc.jpg

So at the bottom, the part labeled "engine stop switch" is the top switch Off/Run/Off. Correct? and then the Black wire is spliced into Part of the push, which would be when you want to start it...correct? And the wires labeled free would be when the top switch is in the Off position. Help is greatly appreciated. I'm really just guessing here guys.

hey guys, so I've been doing little odds and ends. Decided to go with euro bars instead of the club mans. They are so much more comfortable! Got the wiring stuff figured out(I think). Ordered a chain from amazon. The bike master BMO chains are on sale right now. for around 60-70$ if anyones in need!  Also, cutting the old headlight ears down.. gonna see if i can make em look any better fo free. :P

Holy cow that's an awesome price. I just ordered a 530 BMOR chain for $107 from my local motorcycle shop and still gotta pay shipping.

I think I'm going to return that one; $50+ is a lot of gas...
Turbos, Hondas, 4-bangers, what could go wrong?

This is the part i was talking about awhile back you can see one of the studs is bigger... and bent...I'm pretty sure the bending was the PO, but i couldnt have made it any better... I was thinking about just going with bolts instead of the studs. Are there any problems with that? steel bolt into aluminum seems risky to me...

All chains will have to come with a master link. According to the catalog we were ordering out of the lighter tensile chains came with clip on links, whereas the heavier tensile chains came rivet on only. Sorry I wasn't more clear on that.

+1 on the euro bars. I ditched my clubmans for a set as well. I tried dirtbike bars ,but they were too straight across. Your bars look identical to mine. Bikemaster called them GP Touring bars. Love 'em!

Bikes looking good man.Keep on keepin' on...

You do not need to pull spark plugs to see if you have spark.

Just clip a timing light onto any spark plug wire and the
light flashes will tell you if you have spark.

If you still insist on seeing a spark plug spark, just take any
old spark plug and plug it onto that spark plug wire and ground
it to the cylinder head with tape. No need to pull the spark plug.

I'm not too worried about it getting spark anymore( Or should I be? ) When i took the carbs off to clean them a bunch of junk came out and that S.O.S was keeping my bike from really getting any fuel. I guess what im trying to show you guys in the previous picture i posted up above are those studs in the engine case and that ones bent... I really want to take them out and use bolts. My grandfather said i probably shouldn't because of the steel bolts going into the aluminum frame, which makes sense....but i really hate these things... haha
Got the carbs all put back together today. Will be putting them on within the week(I hope) Working on getting a stuck bolt out of my  points cover to check for the water, but the PO Stripped the phillips head a bit using a #2 screwdriver and I don't have one with me.
Thanks for all the advice guys, really!

Those studs can be pretty tricky to remove. If you can work around what is already there it'll really make your life easier

Does the old sprocket look not that worn to anyone else? Or do i just have a terrible eye for these things?

As you can tell the carbs are all back together. One step closer. Got a battery in the mail and been reading the clymer manual for some maintenance stuff i need to do before shes ready to go again. soon... soon.

   OOPS
Missed this one,Yes carefully take off Ole cover ,use electric knife(life is good IF)best way, remove foam from pan ,Cut down Bottom of foam only (at 1st)should get at least an inch,If an inch is enough then the cover should just stretch back on, pain but can be done,IF like me you wont a more narrow stance in seat you'll have to shave that to fit(possibly pan too),BUT that will make the top and side totally different of course,Then take yo ol cover apart and size up 1st before cutting new stuff,...still messing(Need stitching done) with my 750 but have done on others..
(now your old cover that you cut for fit If you play it right can be used as an extra cover(rain?)
